Co się dzieje, gdy „dziwolągi” przejmują scenę? Grupa młodych artystów z niepełnosprawnościami, zaproszona przez Muzeum Sztuki Nowoczesnej w Warszawie, przygotowuje prowokacyjny „freak show” na otwarcie nowej siedziby muzeum. Wspólnie chcą zaprezentować własną interpretację pokazu dziwolągów — taką, która podważy normy, zakwestionuje kanony estetyczne oraz skonfrontuje widzów z samotnością i stygmatyzacją, jakich doświadcza społeczność osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Premiera odbywa się w Halloween – noc oswajania strachu. Towarzyszymy bohaterom w procesie budowania wspólnoty, poznajemy ich motywacje i wątpliwości, a także aspiracje, by zapoczątkować bezprecedensowy ruch. Obserwując tych, którzy ze swoimi wyjątkowymi ciałami żyją cały czas, film zadaje pytanie o naturę naszego lęku. Niepełnosprawność nie musi być wyrokiem – przeciwnie, może stać się przestrzenią inkluzywności i uniwersalnego doświadczenia.

What happens when the so-called “freaks” take over the stage? A group of young artists with disabilities set out to create a different social narrative for themselves. Invited by the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw, they prepare a provocative “freak show” for the opening of the museum’s new space. Together, they create their own interpretation of the performance – one that challenges social norms, questions aesthetic standards, and addresses the stigma experienced by people with disabilities. The premiere takes place on Halloween, a night traditionally associated with fear and the confrontation of hidden anxieties. The story follows the process of building a community: their motivations and doubts, as well as their shared ambition to spark an unprecedented movement. By observing those who live with unique bodies, we are invited to reflect on the nature of fear itself. Ultimately, it conveys that disability does not have to be a sentence; on the contrary, it can be inclusive and universal.
