Koichi Shimizu to japoński producent muzyki elektronicznej, kompozytor, inżynier dźwięku i artysta dźwiękowy. Od ponad dwóch dekad działa na styku muzyki eksperymentalnej, techno i sztuk audiowizualnych. Urodzony w prefekturze Yamanashi, od 2004 roku mieszka w Bangkoku, gdzie odegrał kluczową rolę w kształtowaniu niezależnej sceny dźwiękowej Azji Południowo-Wschodniej.
Jego twórczość łączy precyzyjnie konstruowane struktury rytmiczne z surowymi teksturami dźwiękowymi, przetworzonymi nagraniami terenowymi i głębokimi emocjonalnymi napięciami. Shimizu tworzy zarówno intensywne sety klubowe, jak i immersyjne instalacje dźwiękowe, performanse oraz ścieżki dźwiękowe do filmów – m.in. we współpracy z cenionym reżyserem Apichatpongiem Weerasethakul.

Koichi Shimizu is a Japanese electronic music producer, composer, sound engineer, and sound artist. For over two decades, he has been working at the intersection of experimental music, techno, and audiovisual arts. Born in Yamanashi Prefecture, he has lived in Bangkok since 2004, where he has played a key role in shaping the independent sound scene in Southeast Asia.
His work combines precisely constructed rhythmic structures with raw sonic textures, processed field recordings, and profound emotional tensions. Shimizu creates both intense club sets and immersive sound installations, performances, and film soundtracks—including collaborations with acclaimed director Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

His compositions are multilayered narratives populated by an ensemble of sonic entities, some smug, some shy, some agitators, others ready to surrender. Often there’s a tragic-comical touch, like a cartoon version of what could be a requiem from a dream (or just as much a fertility dance from another dimension).
Rashad is mainly active as a solo artist but finds himself in a series of permanent collaborations alongside Eli Keszler, Moritz von Oswald and as a member of the formation Moleglove. Other and more sporadic collaborators have been Okkyung Lee, Andre Vida, Ashley Paul, and Valerio Tricoli.
The concert is co-financed from the budget of the city of Poznań and takes place as part of the LAS concert series in the Pawilon.
