Duszny dramat psychologiczny i premiera prosto z Cannes. Niefrasobliwa jedynaczka Gil poznaje czarującego, zamożnego Jacquesa. Płomienny romans zostaje uwieńczony szybkim małżeństwem, przychodzi na świat córka i… bohaterowie zaczynają lepiej się poznawać. Ona pochodzi z liberalnej żydowskiej rodziny, on jest ortodoksem; wprowadzi ją w świat uświęconych tradycją rytuałów. Zakochana Gil będzie gotowa na wiele, by zadowolić męża. Przymknie też oko na jego dziwactwa, usprawiedliwiając je wobec coraz bardziej zaniepokojonych rodziców. Kiedy w końcu dotrze do niej prawda, będzie już na dobre uwięziona zarówno w toksycznym związku jak i dosłownie, w luksusowym domu za miastem. A suffocating psychological drama and a premiere straight from Cannes. Carefree only child Gil meets the charming, wealthy Jacques. A passionate romance culminates in a swift marriage, a daughter is born, and... the couple begins to truly get to know one another. She comes from a liberal Jewish family; he is Orthodox and introduces her to a world of sacred, time-honored rituals. Infatuated, Gil is ready to go to great lengths to please her husband. She also turns a blind eye to his eccentricities, defending him to her increasingly concerned parents. By the time the truth finally dawns on her, she is permanently trapped—both in a toxic relationship and literally, in a luxury house outside the city. Jacques increasingly reveals an obsessive desire for control and pathological possessiveness. From sophisticated or crude psychological manipulation and guilt-tripping to gaslighting, Gil is spared nothing. Dominated, she shifts from disbelief to a paralyzing, everyday sense of fear.
