Będąca na ostatnim roku studiów Julita musi stworzyć film dyplomowy. Za poprzednie animacje zgarnęła już sporo festiwalowych nagród, dlatego tym razem postanawia zrobić film nie dla laurów, a dla swojej rodziny. Zadanie wydawało się proste, ale coś poszło nie tak… Zabawna, autotematyczna animacja o tworzeniu animacji z rymowaną narracją, a zarazem zaserwowana z dużym dystansem do siebie autoreklama, prezentująca nie tylko sukcesy animatorki, ale także bohaterów jej poprzednich filmów. Wreszcie też, wzruszający film o pielęgnowaniu rodzinnych relacji i wspólnie spędzonego czasu.
Julita, a university senior, must create her graduation film. Having already won numerous festival awards for her previous animations, she decides this time to make a film not for accolades, but for her family. What seemed like a simple task quickly goes wrong… A humorous, self-referential animation about the process of making animation, featuring rhymed narration and a healthy dose of self-irony. It’s also a playful self-promotion, showcasing not only the animator’s achievements but also characters from her earlier films, while ultimately becoming a touching story about nurturing family relationships and spending time together.

„Jestem tutaj!” chciałaby krzyknąć bohaterka, ale nie jest w stanie poprosić nawet o szklankę wody. Nie może wstać, bo choroba przykuła ją do łóżka i uzależniła od innych. Doskonale za to słyszy wszystko, co jej bliscy mówią na temat jej stanu zdrowia. Codzienność starszej kobiety dokumentuje nieruchoma kamera, skierowana prosto na jej twarz. Pozostali bohaterowie: mąż, córka, wnuki, lekarz czy ksiądz, są tylko korowodem postaci w tle, oddanym za pomocą pojawiających się w kadrze nóg i wypowiadanych słów. Przeszywająca opowieść o samotności w obliczu śmierci, przedstawiona z perspektywy umierającej kobiety – choć ta nie wypowiada ani słowa.
“I am here!” the protagonist would like to shout, but she cannot even ask for a glass of water. Unable to move due to illness, she is bed-ridden and dependent on others. Yet she hears everything her loved ones say about her condition. The daily life of this elderly woman is captured by a static camera focused on her face. Other characters: her husband, daughter, grandchildren, doctor, and priest, appear only indirectly, represented by legs entering the frame and their voices. A piercing story about loneliness in the face of death, told from the perspective of a dying woman - who never utters a single word.

Główną bohaterką jest pracoholiczka, która podporządkowuje całe swoje życie pracy. Wierzy uparcie, że to jedyna słuszna droga, mimo iż nie daje jej to szczęścia. Zupełnie odmienny stosunek do życia ma jej starszy brat, który usiłuje przekonać ją do zmiany. Często zachowuje się ekscentrycznie, zawstydzając siostrę przed współpracownikami i uprzykrzając jej w ten sposób życie. W pewnym momencie siostra ma dosyć natarczywości swojego brata, co doprowadza do częstych kłótni, a w końcu do zerwania kontaktu.
The protagonist is a workaholic who dedicates her entire life to her job. She firmly believes it is the only right path, even though it brings her no happiness. Her older brother takes a completely different approach to life and tries to convince her to change. His eccentric behavior often embarrasses her in front of colleagues and disrupts her routine. Eventually, she grows tired of his persistence, leading to frequent arguments and, ultimately, a complete break in their relationship.

Poza animacją interesuje się krwawymi efektami specjalnymi, charakteryzacją i edukacją filmową dzieci i młodzieży. Stworzona przez nią etiuda „Jestem tutaj” zdobyła nagrody m.in. na DOK Leipzig, Animafest Zagreb, Anifilm i Slamdance w Los Angeles. Jej film dyplomowy „To nie będzie film festiwalowy”, na przekór tytułowi, odniósł sukces i otrzymał m.in. Brązowego Animusza na MFFA Animator.

The programme includes, amongst others, the poignant tale of loneliness in the face of death, “Jestem tutaj”; a humorous, self-referential film about the animation-making process, “To nie będzie film festiwalowy”; a clash of different approaches to life despite the same upbringing, “Mój dziwny starszy brat”; and the 2022 Animator Festival promo. Who among you remembers it?
Julia Orlik – graduate, and currently assistant and lecturer at the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Łódź. Beyond animation, she is interested in gore special effects, makeup, and film education for children and youth. Her short film “Jestem tutaj” has won awards at festivals including DOK Leipzig, Animafest Zagreb, Anifilm, and Slamdance in Los Angeles. Her graduation film “To nie będzie film festiwalowy,” contrary to its title, achieved success and received, among others, the Bronze Pegasus at the Animator IAFF.

„Jestem tutaj!” chciałaby krzyknąć bohaterka, ale nie jest w stanie poprosić nawet o szklankę wody. Nie może wstać, bo choroba przykuła ją do łóżka i uzależniła od innych.
